Most of the people I play tennis with just want to play sets. They don't really want to practice a particular stroke. The Tennis Tutor is now my practice buddy and has improved my volleys and ground strokes.

How I use it: I mostly use this product because I live by myself and I don’t have to call friends to play with. I use to play well in the past, and I wanted to regain my practice so instead of paying an instructor, I decided to buy the machine.

Pros: Very friendly and easy to use. Hard and durable, except the place where it holds the balls is a little bit soft and sometimes concern me (though nothing have happened). Easy to lift (Though it may be heavy on women I guess). It can fit even more than 125 balls easily (I guess I put > 150 balls)

Cons: You have to lift it to move it (It does not have rolls or small tires to push it). It is not a big deal because it is portable but I thing it would be better to be able to scroll it. Sometimes (and this happened 5 to 10 times in my last 2 years of using it) the ball can be stuck inside the machine. It will automatically stop. You just have to remove the ball and turn it on again. It is not a bid deal at all I guess. Also sometimes, the ball are not always consistence in term of speed (Again, it is also not a big problem because most of the time they are).

I bought the machine for one year and during the first six month my stroke improve a lot. I am a beginner and after six month I am at 3.5 level. I play confidence with all the shots since I practice shots many times before trying at the game. It's worth money than buying a treatmill machine or any other exercise machine. I can use it as hitting partner any time if no one is available to play game with me. It's much better than hitting ball against the wall because you feel playing real game. The machine make you run back and forth for baseline shots or you can use it to practice volley if you want. It's great to have. I used regularly for more than a year and have no problem at all. Recommend to buy.

Two seasons ago, I purchased the Tudor Pro/Lite for our Tennis Team (girls). We are the smallest school in South Carolina (1A) with a team. Our school has only 143 students (9-12 grades). We went from a 4&10 season to ranked #2 in the State in 1A Tennis (in 2 seasons). The only additions to the team was the Tudor and myself. It is a great help in developing timing and technique. The girls love and hate this machine, but know it only improves their game. I am very pleased with this product and would highly recommend it to any team or anyone that wants to work and improve their game.

Lightweight and compact, enabling me to carry bag, balls, hopper, etc., in trunk of fullsize car. Love hitting with the Tennis Tutor ProLite. However, the plastic flaps that holds the balls broke within the first year from normal opening and closing. I think they or the inserts should be metal so as not to break. But, company replaced full set without issue. Now, a year after purchase, the machine arbitrarily will shut off and the reset button pops out. Manufacturer said to take bottom plate off and remove loose ball. Well, there was no ball there. So, I guess the problem will continue intermittedly. However, if the company knows these things are problems, I wish they would do something proactive to prevent them. Then the machine would a great buy.

Worked well for over 1 year, being used 1-2 times a month on average, despite being stored in a hot garage (we live in the desert). Screw holding the swivel mechanism on the bottom has fallen out, though the machine is still usable. Also, one of the plastic pieces on the top that helps to hold the balls in cracked. Overall though, we are happy with the purchase and have enjoyed using the machine w/ our kids - it has been awesome watching them have fun while improving their tennis skills / hand-eye coordination through simple repetition.

I use it for ground strokes, volleys and overheads. You can even use it with two people. Actually, I just used it this morning for two hours. I recommend it to anyone who wants to improve the their timing and eye focusing.

Nice and lite, that is in weight and functionality.

I appreciate the light weight and small dimension, as they allow me to get both the machine and my balls in my car trunk.

However, the ball speed is limited to 60 mph and there are no spins on the balls. Also, one of the four the plastic flaps that holds the balls broke at the henge. Can that flap be replaced? If so, how?

Can be a bit difficult to configure when you are used to the really nice, non-portable ball machines. But overall, i can't complain. I love having a ball machine i can take to the courts in the trunk of my car.One thing, it's a little [*]to have a long air tumb snaking across the court, so i'd highly advise you to buy the remote control.

We use it as practice to improve certain shots. The adjustments are great. It is also light and easy to get to and from the courts. As stated above, the only complaint is that the balls do plug up occasionally in the feeder. Other than that it's just great! When we needed a replacement plastic sideboard for feeder you sent not only one, but the entire set without charge!

I use my tennis tutor up to 3 times a week about an hour to two hours at a time. Make sure you get the oscolator its a big plus for not much more. I would suggest this machine to anyone and have. Its amazing how many more people want to come over and play tennis now that I have the machine.

Overall this is a great machine and I'm glad I bought it. I only have 2 criticisms:1- It's too expensive. This machine cost over [$] and I can't believe it would have cost more than [$] to produce, so that's a huge markup, and a bit of a gouge. But it is a great machine.2- It throws the balls inconsistently, varying 20-30 feet with each ball in some cases BUT I'm using older balls, some starting to deflate. So I'm sure the balls are part of the problem. On the brighter side, getting varying throw depths force you to run back and forward along with just side to side.Overall, a great machine, battery has never gone dead, gives me great practice.I give it 4 stars instead of 5 mainly because it's overpriced.

I added my own battery powered inverter to allow use on courts with no AC. Once I have set the range and height I want to use (these tend to be pretty constant for me), I'm practising within minutes of arrival. I work on ground strokes, lobs and drop shots.

Great machine for somebody that needs to find some stroke confidence. Not too heavy, fits easy in the trunk of a car, battery life is great. Perfect for banging balls. But if you're already an intermediate player, then you'll eventually want something more robust. Lobster has some compact machines (on wheels, too) that better simulate the pace and feel of a real opponent's ground stroke, i.e. spin and velocity. Of course, they cost a little more. Just do your homework so that you are sure to get the most value for your money.
