I bought this machine for my son, 12 yr. old. He likes it. It makes him can focus on his form and consistency. Without it, he plays only if he can find someone at the equal level. Now, he likes to play with the machine. It also helps me because I don't need to feed uncontrolled balls to him.

Bob (the name of our new lobster 4 machine) is a welcome addition to our tennis playing family of 3.
He arrived the first warm spring day here in Northern Ohio. WE have been taking him to the outdoor courts 4-5 days per week . Our 11 year old daughter loves hitting with him. My wife(engineering background) loves tweeking all the variables for just the right shots for our daughter to practice.

Bob took some time to get acclamated with. Now- after a week- we hit the ct, turn on, calibrate and in just a few minutes he is ready to go.

My ground strokes have already improved.

WE use 1 -2 hrs per day. IT has not run out of charge. We did use it 3 days in a row with out charging and it finally asked for a break. With the basic fast charger we just plug in after each usage and Bob is refreshed and ready to play everyday.

After 2 weeks we are very satisfied.

Great machine, great for training and for fitness. With the long battery life, you can get a great workout. Could not be more happy with this machine overall. Only drawback is the occasional motor error that I am not sure what causes it. It clears up by turning off then on again. Remote is a must have. Very well made, versatile machine.

This machine is terrific when its working. The ball throws are accurate and consistent and there are virtually no jams. I've had other ball machines and jams are usually a problem, especially with Silet Partner machines. The downside is that its not very sturdy. Mine has been back to Lobster at least 3 times for repairs, although its been working fine lately.

The Lobster Elite Grand works like a dream. A terrific practice tool and fun! I bought it to assist me in trying to get back into the game despite the "pins and needles" kind of impediment of my aging knees. It has enhanced - even changed - my life, while I just hope my knees holds up so I can continue to enjoy getting out and using a pretty cunning machine[...] The battery was fully charged in about 5 hours. Once charged, however, the battery seems to hold a charge forever (obviously, a slight exaggeration), but to date, I have hardly been able to dent the battery charge level as I have been out on the court for roughly two hour sessions - using about 4-5 hamper loads of 96 balls each - having observed only a 4% to 6% discharge of the battery level. The included, compact "fast-charger" is quite sufficient - I feel no need to invest extra in the "premium" charger option.To setup the Lobster, orient the machine's left and right 'markers' to the center position on the backcourt line. The Lobster goes through a 14 second calibration routine once turned on. There is a separate button on the machine to enable the Remote option. A "Test" option, follows the initial calibration, which permits the machine to be aligned to the court's center service line. Ball accuracy is quite impressive. Speed is adjusted in 5 Mph increments. Topspin and under-spin has three level settings each. The remote (recommended) let's me pause to make any desired changes / adjustments without wasting time, balls, or higher battery consumption. It is surprisingly sensitive and works well, whether facing the front, side, or rear of the machine I do wish the Remote came with a similarly intuitive LCD screen as found on the back of the machine, if only because it requires me to remember the actual number of times I pressed the "speed," "spin," or other buttons. The Random Sweep option is of a cunning design, because, while one might visually anticipate the sweep, it nonetheless cleverly and randomly alters the timing of the ball's release and length of sweep just enough to have me more than once wrongly second-guessing ball placement.The pre-programmed game drills are accessed via the backside of the Lobster, itself (i.e., no remote option).Similarly, the lob drill is setup via "Manual" option on the machine, itself (i.e., again, not a remote option). The Manual button permits adjustment to ball "elevation" by 5 degree increments, "speed" by 5 MPH increments, "spin" - 3 levels for both top and underspin, as well as "angle," and "feed" time. It took me a number of "test" lobs to get things to work right for me. Be forewarned: The Lobster boasts a cannon for a gun that if not critically balanced (for elevation, speed, and spin) will readily 'lob' balls over the backcourt fence into adjacent court, parking lot, or even nearby backyard, conceivably provoking any salivating "sand lot" dog to assume immediate ownership. I hesitated to check the "proffesional" box, if only because I am not qualified to speak for the pro; but I do believe the Lobster Elite Grand would prove to be an exceptionally useful practice tool for the tennis coach's students - given almost unlimited return options as well as the three pre-programmed drills, which I have yet to test, because, I know without a hesitation of doubt that my knees just aren't up to the the quick jerks and sprints required to keep up.Still, something to look forward to as the Grand machine is rife with options.

Battery lasts a long time. Have never run out, even when using machine for myself and my two tournament level kids in long sessions. Machine provides ample spin and ball speed options. Pre-set patterns are a great feature. Random ball placement option provides killer workout, both side-to-side and front-to -back. Auto test feature ensures that the pre-set ball patterns are very accurate and consistent. Manual one-shot settings require some work to get accurate. Called customer care once, and they were helpful. Owners manual could be improved. Unit came with battery disconnected, which was easily resolved by opening back of unit and manually connecting one of the leads. [...]

The Lobster is great in helping improve shots and aiding practise. We have seen great improvement since getting the machine. The only drawback is the remote being so expensive. We did not order the remote because it was so much, but it would be a great help when using the machine alone.
