I read a lot of reviews and did a lot of research before I bought the Lobster elite 2 machine. I am very happy with my purchase as far as the machine doing what it is supposed to do. Its speed, spin, portability, battery life and accuracy are all very good for a machine in this price range. A lot of the reviews I read talked about the cheap wheels and handle that it comes with. I couldn't agree more. For [$] you would think Lobster would make these two things a little more solid. I haven't had any problems with either and I would'nt let it keep you from purchasing this machine but you would think something so simple to upgrade to illiminate an initial negative reaction would be worth the investment to the company. Other than the handle and wheels, the machine seems quite durable. Another negative thing I read about the machine is when picking it up you have to reach way under the machine on one side which is kind of awkward. This is true but its not that big of a deal because most likely you aren't going to need to carry it to the court because it has the wheels on it. The only other negative thing I read about the machine was that it was noisy when it occolates. I can say that its noiser when it ocsolates compared to when you are just hitting forehands or backhands. You can actually listen to a machine online by typing in lobster elite 2 under video section. It will give you a good idea what it sounds like. Overall, I am happy I bought the machine. I wish I have used other machines in the past so I could compare them, but I haven't. So far, the machine has helped me do exacly what I wanted which is to work on different strokes and improve my game.

I just received the Elite 2 and used it for the first time today. It took a few tries to figure out the best position and settings, but once I had it set it was fun. I bought this for myself and my 14-yr-old who just took up the game (Finally!!) This is the best way to get your strokes perfected. Also used it when we demoed a bunch of new racquets. It's a great machine. No problems with the (standard) battery life at all. We use it 1 to 2 hours and charge it after each use. I can lift it into the back of my SUV. It's pretty narrow and easy to store. The only drawback is the horizontal feed -- it goes very wide and it's hard to keep up with it even at the slowest feed speed. If you have the extra cash, go for the next model up which, I believe, allows you to customize the horizontal span. To compensate, we would position ourselves like doubles then switch off. But, all-in-all, I would buy this again. I purchased 3 buckets of 48 Penn pressureless balls that work great. It holds 150.

I like this machine. This machine is easy to use and shoot various types of ball.
It help me to correct my swing form and improve my performance as I expected.
One complain is that machine is squiky when it horizontally swing and stops momentarily in the middle of span after 5 times of use.

I bought the machine for my 11-year old son, who competes in USTA tournament, in order to increase the number of hours he can spend on the court without the additional cost of paying an instructor. We've only used the machine once so far, but we are happy enough with it. It's not as heavy as I feared and we try to be careful with the wheels given what I've read in other reviews about their being flimsy. It takes some time to figure out the controls, but once you get a hang of it, the balls are fed more or less consistently into the area you want. The triple oscillation feature proved to be too challenging to use, at least at the speed of the ball we've selected (the machine was hitting corners and creating such angles that my son couldn't get to the ball on time) - have to tinker with it some more. Overall, it seems to be serving its purpose well, and we hope it doesn't break too quickly, since servicing it would be a pain.

Somewhat heavy to get in and out of the car, but once is out of the car, it is easy to pull around. It seems to be easy to clean the top an outside of the machine. I like the wheels, which make it easy to move around.

I started playing tennis last year after my wife talked me into it (she has been playing since childhood). I picked up a cheap machine off craigslist that did not have spin and after hitting off it decided that with today's game I needed to add this to my practice routine. Sold the other machine and bought the new Lobster. My wife is a solid 4.0 player and loves the practice on returning top/underspin shots now. I have been using the machine and am very happy with it. If you can afford it, go for the machine with the spin control.

The lobster Elite 2 tennis machine is excellent so far. I've had no problems at all with the machine although I've only used it several times so far. It definitely perfomes as advertised. I have had though two problems with the lobster elite: The first problem I have is with the remote control. For [$] it's not worth purchasing. There is only 2 functions on the remote control. The signal is barely registered by the machine from across the court and when the remote and machine communicate there is no way of knowing it has done so. The second problem is paying an additional 100 dollars for a charger because the one that comes with the machine is not very good.

With this product, I'm able to focus on preparation and strokework for most any shot in the book; the heavy topspin and low slice the machine is able to produce help to improve returns on a variety of shots, while the 150+ balls that it holds are more than enough to build up a rhythm and work up a sweat! I'd recommend this product to anyone, though transportation in and out of the car can be difficult (there's no really great way to grip and carry the machine); fortunately, once you do get it out of the car, the wheels at the base work well for rolling it to the courts, so long as you've got smooth and level ground to roll it along.

My wife and I both use the machine. My wife has played tennis most of her life while I had never picked up a racket. Due to having kids at the house we alternate who watches the children while the other plays. My wife loved the machine. She claims had she used this when she was on her team should would have been alot better. As for me, I was looking for something different to use as a cardio exercise. Within the first few minutes I was sweating. As you can imagine my form was poor but the exercise I received from the machine was great. The cost is about what you would pay for a good treadmill or eliptical machine.

The machine is easy to use, quick to set up and having the option to send the ball all over the place is what we really enjoy about it.

The only con I can possibly think of is that it may be a little heavy for some people to pick up if they were transporting from an auto to the courts. If you live close to the courts or have one in your yard the handle makes moving almost effortless.

I had a competitor machine. It worked O.K. but had problems with ball jams. The Lobster appears to be better engineered and the adjustments and controls are easy to use. However, I am experiencing a problem with the charging circuit. The LED light circuit showing the charging status is defective and there appears to be a bad connection. Also, while I like the overall design, it is cumbersome to lift because it does not have a handle. It also takes up more storage space than the competitor which was flatter. With every machine there have to be compromises, and I think over-all, the Lobster has made the right design choices.

I am a 67 year old tennis novice and have only been playing for a couple of years. The ball machine has given me the intense practice I need to get my skill level up quickly to that of my peers.

This is the best machine. Makes you run all around, it's epic. Problem with it is... it's loud. Lobster engineer's, make this thing more quiet and you'll dominate the market. I've had this product for over a month now, and the original factory-juiced battery power is still good! While the elevation and oscillation controls can be unpredictable at times, once you set them, the ball is pretty much consistent. I get a great workout using this machine, although I have yet to see my game improve as a result!

I got the machine today, and I'm very dissapointed. The first thing I noticed was that although the machine claims to be made in the U.S.A, the motors are clearly stamped "China". After charging the machine and turning it on, I noticed that the bottom thrower wheel rubs against the red plastic housing when adjusting the elevation, and immediately shuts down the machine causing an error code. Lastly, the remote doesn't work at all. Followed all the troubleshooting tips - even took the machine apart, and no luck. Their website claims each machine goes through an extensive quality control test. The tester apparently didn't test the remote or the elevator control. Will call for a refund.

This product met or exceeded my expectations. The only fault I could find is that that all the balls in the bin do not fully empty into the machine. There are usually about three left - no big deal. This unit is not built very well. Hard to move around and handle not very sturdy. I have tried new balls and old balls and also pressure less balls and the unit is very inconsistent. It seems to tear the balls up rather quickly. Our club ha s a Playmate unit that works great. Don’t buy the Lobster get the Playmate.

Great ball machine. I've owned a ball machine in the past from another company and this was far superior. It really works well. I have two criticisms though. Firstly, picking up the machine is a hassle as it doesn't really have a handle to lift it other than 2 gripping contours under the machine. This means that in order to lift it up stairs for instance it you have to bend all the way down to the ground to pick it up, which could very easily cause you to injure your back lifting 44 lbs. from this position. In addition, the instruction manual was woefully inadequate in many ways and caused me to waste quite a bit of time figuring out how to use all of the functions. Otherwise its an exceptional product.

Easy to use, works great and very consistent feeds. It is way more compact than I expected, but if you can't lift the 50 pound base off the ground you will need 2 people to put it in the car. Top mph and spins provide plenty of difficulty for me and I play 4.0-4.5. Random vertical and horizontal feeds super accurate and will wear you out in no time. Once out of the car it is super mobile and light. Turning feed off when hopper empty during pickup time keeps battery life long.

The product is reliable, consistent, and easy to use and transport. I have used it for 2 hours a day continuously almost every day for 9 mos now and it has never quit on me. Without this machine I could not have made the changes to advanced grips and strokes. It has been key to drastically improving my technique which has resulted in my moving from a 3.0 to a 3.5 NRTP playing level in the city leagues.
The only minor criticism I can come up with is that the elevation control button requires a little too much trial and error. It would be better if that button were changed to a numbered dial like the other controls on the machine so you could set it to a specific setting quickly without having to adjust by eye as several balls are shot out. But that is very minor thing which could be improved. Everything else is perfect! The machine performs like the first day I bought it after being used for 2-3 hours continuously for at least 5 days a week. It has never broken once - this is huge for me as previous machines I've purchased from other vendors spent more time in the shop getting repaired than on the court. This machine is the perfect hitting partner and has been the key to enabling me to make the necessary grip and stroke technique changes to play the modern game.
